My work in Libraries

All my life, I've had a library that I claimed as my own. My home away from home. A place to invest in my personal capital. This is why I have been involved with library work off and on for the past 10 years.

As an employee of the University of Texas library system I have done the following:

  • Research Help and Reference

  • Ciculation Supervisor

  • Volunteer coordinator

  • Tech support

Some of the library related projects I've been involved in:

  • A small group of students and I conducted an assessment on the feasibility of an assignment calculator being useful to the students of Austin Community College. We created a handout that similated what our assignment calculator experience would be. That can be found here. Also, we created a presentation to help sell the idea of an assignment calculator. That can be found here.

  • I also conducted a needs assessment for a specific library population. I’ve worked at the Fine Arts Library for the past two years, so I focused on Graduate Students at the Butler School of music here at the University of Texas. That can be read here.
