My work with Film

 

As a lifelong devotee to film, I've enoyed several opportunities to work with the medium. Off and on since 2006, I've worked with the University of Texas Libraries' Audio Visual Collection. This collection includes, DVD, Blu Ray, 16 mm, VHS, Betamax and U-matic formats. Some of my duties to these collections have included:

• acquistion

• appraisal

• preservation

• weeding

• circulation

• digitization

• creating access copies

• reference

 

The capstone project for my MSIS is called "Resurecting Hobel-Leiterman." A forgotten educational 16 mm film producing duo who created masterful social policy time capsules in the 1970s. I'm working with these films in every capacity to create access copies for library patrons. The poster for this project can be found here. 

 

Another project with film that I am proud to have worked with is "Filmed in Austin" an interactive database of films made in and around Austin, Texas. Complete with poster art and a Google maps plugin, you can find that here.
